Using Microsoft Outlook Express with Your Email November 3, 2011

BEFORE YOU START: To set up Outlook Express with your email, you need to know your POP3 Server Settings and ports. Normally, these settings were provided to you when you signed up on your mail provider.

The default settings we provide our mail clients would be the following:

Incoming Mail Server (POP3): mail.yourdomain.com
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mail.yourdomain.com

You should replace yourdomain.com with your domain.

  1. In Microsoft Outlook Express, select Tools, and then click Accounts.
  2. On the Internet Accounts window, click the Mail tab, then click Add. Select Mail… from the list.
  3. On the Internet Connect Wizard window, in the Display name field, enter the name to be displayed on your email, and then click Next.
  4. In the E-mail address field, enter your email address, and then click Next.
  5. On the E-mail Server Names window, from the My incoming mail server is a list, select either POP3.
  6. In the Incoming mail (POP3 IMAP or HTTP) server field enter your incoming POP3 server. (mail.yourdomain.com)
  7. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field, enter your outgoing SMTP server (mail.yourdomain.com), and then click Next.
  8. In the Account name and Password fields, enter your email address and password, and then click Next.
  9. Click Finish.
  10. On the Internet Accounts wizard, select the account you just created, and then click Properties.
  11. Click the Advanced tab.

    With SSL – 465
  14. Tick on the checkbox to enable – This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)
  15. Incoming Server Settings
  16. Port
    POP without SSL – 110
    For POP with SSL – 995
  17. Click OK.
